Open Positions

Software developer (80-100%)

Responsibilities
  • Create and develop software solutions to extend and improve Battrion’s operations and R&D (e.g. manufacturing, process monitoring, sensors, basic web interfaces for operators)
  • Manage source code, development and deployment
  • Manage contributions from other developers (external and internal)
  • Keep track of internal bug reports and management of technical debt
  • Development of basic data analysis routines (manufacturing data, battery test data)
Requirements
  • Advanced programming skills (Python required, JS, C++ favorable)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German favorable, but not required)
  • 3+ years track record
  • You want to use your multi-discipline skills to contribute to the development of future battery technology

Development Engineer Hardware (80-100%)

Responsibilities
  • Create and develop hardware solutions to extend and improve Battrion’s operations and R&D (e.g. manufacturing, process monitoring, sensors)
  • Support our process development team in solving manufacturing issues
  • Implement innovative solutions to improve and simplify our manufacturing processes
  • Manage and execute internal development projects and experimentation
Requirements
  • Experience in agile product development and rapid prototyping)
  • Advanced electronics and mechanical engineering skills
  • Basic programming skills (favorably Python and/or C++)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German (B2) for supplier interaction)
  • Engineering degree (FH, ETH/EPFL) with work experience
  • You have a Hacker mentality
  • You understand both fast prototyping as well as high-quality engineering solution
  • You want to use your multi-discipline skills to contribute to the development of future battery technology

Internship R&D (100%)

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the R&D development
  • Assisting in the production and characterization of our fast-charging electrodes and cells
Requirements
  • You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, physics or chemistry.
  • You are available for a full-time 6 month internship (min. 4 months)
  • You enjoy working in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Process Engineer (80-100%)

Responsibilities
  • Develop and expand electrode manufacturing processes (mixing, coating, pressing)
  • Improve process robustness and establish controls for critical parameters
  • Support production staff with manufacturing instructions and standard operation procedures
  • Solve manufacturing issues
  • Manage and execute internal (and support external) development projects
Requirements
  • Experience with one or more of: Roll to roll coating, roll pressing, battery manufacturing, industrial chemical processing, print or paper processing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them towards manufacturing process development
  • Highly proficient in data analysis / interpretation
  • Basic programming skills (favorably Python and/or C++)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German favorable but not required)
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering or development experience
  • Engineering degree (FH, ETH/EPFL or equivalent)
  • You want to use your multi-discipline skills to contribute to the development of future battery technology

Accountant/Office Manager 60% (temporary for 6-8 months)

Responsibilities
  • Accounts payable: account assignments, post business transactions and arrange payments
  • Accounts receivable: issue invoices to customers and collection
  • Payroll journal entries, bank reconciliation, travel expense booking etc.
  • Participate in liquidity planning
  • Administrative duties such as handling calls, office maintenance, mailing, ordering supplies
  • Track attendance and vacation balance of employees
  • Schedule appointments and arrange business trips

Requirements
  • 3 years of professional experience in a similar position
  • Affinity for numbers, IT systems, MS Excel and online-banking
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong multi-task as well as excellent organization skills
  • Hands-on and can-do mentality
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German
